Aligning With God!
"...Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts."
~ Zechariah 4:6(b)
Pondering the days we're living in!
God is doing a work on the earth that is different from generations before. (Isaiah 43:18-19). It cannot be manufactured or controlled by man. It is ALL God! He alone builds up and tears down as He deems necessary. (Jeremiah 31:28). God doesn't need us...He can do it all by Himself. He is God alone! Nevertheless, He chooses to partner with us, His children, to fulfill His perfect plan here on this earth. (Philippians 2:13). And, when it's all said and done, God will get ALL of the Glory due His name.
Aligning with God's heart can sometimes be challenging. Let's be honest, it requires unwavering devotion...devoting our time seeking to know Him more. We need to stay close to Him...praying and listening, reading His Word, and abiding in His glorious presence. As we mentioned in a previous post, the Lord said we needed to rest as He prepares us for our next. Sometimes we think of resting as doing nothing. On the contrary, resting in God requires complete dedication and submission to making Him our first...our first love, our first go-to, our first everything. Aligning with God's heart should always be our first and foremost desire!
The Lord has been increasing dreams and visions within us over the last few months for the "next" He has planned. This time of transitioning with God can bring on varying emotions, such as curiosity, excitement, uneasiness for the unknown, along with everything in between. One thing that is known...God is for us and not against us (Romans 8:31); He works all things for good (Romans 8:28); and His peace surpasses all our understanding (Philippians 4:7). We were created for His Glory (Isaiah 43:6-7), and all the Glory He WILL get.
I (Kathy) have been told before that I am very transparent. A pastor's wife once mentioned that we should all strive to be HOT (Honest, Open, Transparent). Usually that would be the case for me. However, recently the Lord has impressed upon us to hold what He's doing in us for now with greater discretion and discernment. Holy Spirit reminded me that as a parent of a newborn, we don't allow just anyone to hold our newborn baby. We reserve that right to those we are closest to and whom we trust the most. There may even be times when only we, the parents, hold the child. There is nothing wrong with that. When you are given a gift, you treasure and protect it at all costs. (Matthew 7:6).
This may not make a lot of sense to many of you, but it doesn't have to. We have learned, when it makes perfect sense to God that's all that matters. Jesus isn't just our Savior, He's our Lord! We will continue saying, "Yes!" to His will for our lives...now and in our next!
"But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
