"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
~ Matthew 6:33
"Great faith doesn't come by great effort, but by great surrender."
The previous quote was from a sign we read yesterday while driving around in Monroeville, Alabama. I love how God uses the simplest things to speak volumes of truth into our lives.
Everywhere we travel we are praying and believing for God to show us where to go, what to do, and who we are to speak to and pray for. Isn't it interesting how we often rely on our own wisdom and strength to do God's will?
God was, undeniably, speaking very clearly to us yesterday. HE was telling us that it's not by our efforts that our faith increases, but by our great surrender. God requires a great surrender from us. And with our great surrender comes great faith...a great faith that HE will do what HE says HE will do.
This journey we're on has not been an easy one by far. So often we are stretched far beyond ourselves in order for HIS will to be accomplished and HIS Glory to be revealed. We aren't here because this was our desire. We are here because God said, "Go!" and we desire to be obedient to HIS voice.
This "great surrender" is not just for River of H.O.P.E. Ministries, but for all of us who name Jesus Christ as Lord. God wants our hearts, our wills, our ways, our earthly wisdom, and our timeframes to align with HIS, especially in this world we are living in today.
We don"t always understand HIS will or HIS ways completely, but we are so grateful that we do understand HIS great love and faithfulness toward us.
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
~ Galatians 2:20
